At 46, I decided to start DJing.
It was something I’d always wanted to do, but the timing had never felt right.
Some people questioned it.
Some people judged it.
Some people said, “Why are you doing that?”
My answer was simple:
Because I can.
It wasn’t easy. I was travelling to London and back for lessons, all while juggling my day job and everyday life.
At 47, I played my first gig.
Now, one year on, I’ve had the chance to play at all kinds of events, meet brilliant people, learn so much, and most importantly — I’m loving every minute of it.
I’m still juggling the day job, but when you’ve got a passion for something, it doesn’t feel like work in the same way.
There’s still so much I want to achieve, and I’m determined to keep pushing, learning and growing.
So here’s the moral of the story:
Don’t let anyone tell you you’re too old.
Don’t let anyone decide what you can or can’t do.
Don’t let judgement stop you from starting.
You get one life.
Make it yours.
Follow my journey as I keep creating a sound, a vibe and moments that bring people joy.
