A few members of our panel were out supporting The Portsmouth Players this week with their riotous role-reversal cabaret Miscast Again! Congratulations to all involved - it was a wonderful celebration of musical theatre!

We were at the first performance of Urinetown from Hayling Musical Society last night!

Urinetown is a satirical comedy which explores starkly relevant social and political themes through a ridiculous premise - a water shortage so severe that private toilets are banned and people must pay to p*e.

This is an ambitious production from Hayling Musical Society, featuring a striking split-level set, playful choreography and a cohesive cast who really committed to the darkly comic style of the piece.

Urinetown is at Hayling Island Community Centre until Saturday - just make sure you p*e before the show.

We've already begun with a couple of brilliant productions this year - Everybody's Talking About Jamie from CCADS and A Hundred Words for Snow from Titchfield Festival Theatre!

This month we've got a lot more on the way including Urinetown, The Pirates of Penzance and Oklahoma 😍

It’s the first Sunday of the month (already?!) but that means that weekly Spotlight is being taken over by our very own and this week is extra special because he’s joined by Spotlight Awards Judge, and founder of - Perry Reilly who brings an incredibly eclectic mix of his favourite songs from musical theatre as well as the usual chats and even a mini-game or two 🎭 🎶

A spooky night at Bedhampton Community Centre on behalf of The Spotlight Awards for Wing It Theatrical Society's Halloween double bill of two one act plays, Fate's Thread and Knock Knock, Who's There. 🎭👻

We're currently starting to plan for the festivities in June 2026, so do keep an eye out for announcements coming in the new year!

For now, please spread the word far and wide so we can continue to celebrate and uplift our local theatre scene. The awards are nothing without you - so a massive thank you to everyone who's submitted their shows already, and to all involved in them.
