A recent mature graduate of the University of Portsmouth Creative and Performing Arts, I have made my freelance singing teaching a full time occupation.
I have over a decade's experience teaching one to one and group work as well as directing, stage management and music directorship for local Youth and Adult companies such as Havant Dynamo youth theatre and CCADS. In addition to my experience behind the scenes and in the creative process, I am also a keen performer, both professionally and on the amateur scene (please see a list of recent awards and reviews below). Teaching is my passion. My lessons are suitable for any age and I will cater the lessons and style of singing to my client. I offer one to one sessions as well as group sessions and regular (weekly/fortnightly) lessons to suit you. My specialty is Musical Theatre, however I am proficient in all genres, particularly opera, rock, pop and jazz, all of which I have extensive experience in. In addition, I am a mobile singing teacher; you can come to me (I am based in Waterlooville, Hampshire) or I can hold your lessons in the comfort of your own home. I provide all music and a portable keyboard. Singing lessons are a wonderful hobby just for the love of singing, but if you wish to pursue singing more formally, I can help prepare you for LCM exams, amateur or professional auditions or local Singing festivals. I can help develop your confidence if you are a new singer, or help you to develop or practice your technique as an already confident vocalist. Awards/Reviews

"For me, the scenes with Scrooge and the Ghost of Christmas Present were the most memorable. Matt Sackman (The Ghost of Christmas Present) had great personality and his performance lit up the stage. I loved the sheer exuberance of his tap dance as Scrooge is offered the delights of a Christmas feast." Review 2012 - John Thomas - NODA Representative - CHESS
"Matt Sackman lived his character." Review 2011 - Portsmouth Evening News - OUR HOUSE
"Matt Sackman came dangerously close to stealing the show!"
Review 2010 - Portsmouth Evening News - GUYS AND DOLLS
"But suddenly wiping the theatrical rug from under everybody's feet is the suddenly omnipresent Matt Sackman. Here, he shines."
