Hi, I’m Carla Sanders, artist, creative educator, and founder of CJS Creators Cabin. After 17 years teaching in Further Education, I realised that while I was constantly supporting others’ creativity, I’d los

t touch with my own. The pace and pressure left me disconnected, from my creative practice, from others, and eventually from myself. I knew I needed to step back, reconnect, and rebuild a more meaningful way to live and work creatively. I started CJS Creators Cabin to reclaim that space, to create a place where creativity is valued, protected, and experienced as something deeply human and necessary. For generations, people used their hands and minds together to make, repair, and invent. Those skills connected us, to the world around us, to each other, and to ourselves. But in today’s world, so much of what we rely on is digital or automated. Screens do the thinking, machines do the making, and convenience often replaces skill. That connection, with our hands, our ideas, and each other, is at risk of being lost. At CJS Creators Cabin, we focus on The Art of Reconnection, reconnecting with ourselves, with others, and with our natural ability to create. Our workshops are small, hands-on, and thoughtfully designed to give you time and space to create something meaningful. You’ll learn skills, explore materials, and make work that feels personal and lasting, something worth keeping. From adults wanting to reconnect with their creativity, to teams rebuilding connection through shared making, and children discovering the value of creating by hand, every session celebrates creativity as essential, not optional. No rush. Just space to make, think, and reconnect. The Art of Reconnection is the act of putting yourself into your making, your hands, your mind, your care. It’s where creativity, presence, and humanity meet, and where each piece becomes a reflection of you. Whether you’re creating on your own, with a child, with friends, or with a team, the act of making together reconnects us, with ourselves, with each other, and with the human, hands-on process of creation.

✨Sometimes, the smallest detours lead to the biggest surprises ✨

Today, my daughter Grace and her dad Jim took Hazel out for a walk like they always do 🐾 Last minute, they changed location and went to Foxes Forest instead.

While there, someone said hello. They said it back… and kept walking…

Then realised, it was Paul Stone. The man behind My Dog Sighs. They hadn’t even clocked it at the time.

They carried on.

Grace then found a rock from Portsmouth Rocks UK 🪨 (which we’ll be re-hiding somewhere in Drayton 👀)

They followed a path… but couldn’t get out that way, so turned back and went all the way around in the opposite direction. Then Hazel suddenly pulled Jim off to the side.

Something caught his eye. 👀

Hidden there… was something unexpected…….A piece of My Dog Sighs treasure, number 8/100.

They didn’t go out looking for anything, they weren’t treasure hunting, they didn’t even plan to be there. And if they hadn’t had to turn back, they would never have found it.

That’s not random, that was meant to be ✨

Grace is so chuffed, it’s made today even more special for her 🥹

🙏Thank you to everyone who came to our Easter workshop. It was a fab session watching you all fully immerse yourselves in the process and seeing your creativity shine. 🐰

I loved the focus and concentration in the room, the care the children took when considering the colours they used and the marks they made was amazing to watch. You could really see their ideas developing as they worked. Future artists in the making for sure. ✨🎨

There was so much colour and creativity on the day and, of course, lots of messy tables… just how we like it. Thank you again for making it such a lovely session. Have a fantastic Easter Sunday everyone. 🐣🌷🐰🎨

Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible mums in our community 💐💖

Today we celebrate the love, patience, creativity, and warmth that mums bring into their children’s lives every single day. You are the storytellers, the comforters, the cheerleaders, and the heart of so many special moments.

A very special thank you to the wonderful mums who joined our Mother’s Day workshops this year with their little ones 🌸 Watching you create, laugh, and reconnect through creativity was truly special. From tiny hands covered in paint to proud smiles over finished creations, it was beautiful to see those meaningful moments unfold.

Our workshops are all about slowing down, getting creative together, and giving families the space to reconnect, bond, and create lasting memories 💕✨

We’re so grateful to every mum and child who shared those moments with us.

Wishing all mums a day filled with love, appreciation, and beautiful time spent with the people who matter most.

Bloom Together is about sitting side by side.
Laughing, chatting, and giving your full presence, sharing that quiet space where nothing else matters for a while.

You’ll leave with a beautiful floral piece to take home and treasure.
