We are deeply saddened and shocked to hear of the passing of former Portsmouth goalkeeper Alan Knight.

Alan was a hugely respected figure at Fratton Park and a true Pompey legend, remembered with great affection by supporters for his outstanding service to the club and his performances between the posts.

More than simply a fantastic goalkeeper, Alan became part of the fabric of Portsmouth Football Club and will forever hold a special place in the hearts of the Pompey faithful.

Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Alan’s family, friends, former teammates and everyone connected with Portsmouth FC at this incredibly sad time.

The Portsmouth Legends show on Thu 12 Nov will still go ahead as planned and will now be dedicated to the memory of Alan Knight. We hope it will provide an opportunity for everyone in attendance to come together, share their memories and celebrate the life and career of a true Portsmouth legend.

Alan will be greatly missed, but his contribution to Pompey will never be forgotten.

The whole cast had an absolute blast exploring, laughing and making some magical memories along the way - and we couldn’t have asked for a better day!

A HUGE thank you to Southsea Model Village, CPPTD -City of Portsmouth Preserved Transport Depot and Clarence Pier for welcoming us and helping make our Press Day so special. 💚
