Portia, Marie and Lena had a fab evening watching Young Creatives members in the production of Grease this evening!

It was also awesome to see so many other TYC members in the audience supporting too.

We've attended many of the schools productions over the past six years to support our members, and each one has been amazing.

Our Artistic Director is also a former student of the school, making it especially wonderful to see the opportunities now being provided to today's students through drama, music and performance.

Hearing students speak at the end about what these experiences have meant to them just shows how powerful the arts can be in helping young people build confidence, friendships and memories that last a lifetime.

Congratulations to the cast, crew and staff on a fantastic production. 🎭

What if David Attenborough came to Portsmouth?

That simple question has inspired months of research, storytelling, movement and creativity from young people aged 5 to 13 from The Young Creatives Portsmouth and The Young Creatives Havant.

This Sunday, they will bring local wildlife, conservation and Portsmouth's unique connection to the sea to life in What a Wonderful World? – a free original performance at the Theatre of the Sea.

At TYC, we believe every young person has a creative voice worth hearing. Rather than handing children a script, we encourage them to explore ideas, tell stories and create work that is uniquely their own.

📍 Theatre of the Sea, Southsea Promenade 🕥 10:45am & 12:30pm 🎟 Free admission

Please come down and join us at the Theatre of the Sea, on the promenade behind Southsea Castle, this Sunday!

Our young creatives aged 5 to 12 will be performing their response to the celebration of both Portsmouth City and David Attenborough turning 100 🎉

Performances are at 10.45am and 12.30pm

We love this photo of TYC member Isabelle standing in front of a still from the film Fruitless 🎬✨

What a powerful film exploring family, ambition, and the sacrifices many young people from working-class backgrounds are often forced to make in order to pursue their dreams.

Produced by talented students from Portsmouth University, this project is another fantastic example of the opportunities that can be created through creative partnerships.

Over the years, we have built a strong relationship with Portsmouth University's Film and Television students, helping connect young performers with emerging filmmakers. Through this partnership, students gain valuable experience in auditioning, casting and working with young actors, while our young people gain access to real-world creative opportunities and professional credits.

Isabelle secured this role following a rigorous casting process, with the writer and director visiting our sessions in search of the perfect young actress. Some of you may also remember us sharing her self-tape earlier this year.

We are incredibly proud of Isabelle and the fantastic performance she has delivered in this film. It is another wonderful credit to add to her growing acting CV, and we have no doubt she has a bright future ahead of her.

A huge thank you to the team behind Fruitless and to Portsmouth University for continuing to encourage students to connect with local young talent and create meaningful opportunities for the next generation of creatives. 💙✨

Congratulations, Isabelle!
