The team at Word of Mouth are creating a documentary on the history of Portsmouth Grassroots Music!

Portsmouth’s music history was built by the people in the rooms—the promoters taking risks, the bands on tiny stages, and everyone working behind the scenes to keep grassroots live music alive.

We’re putting together Waves of Sound, a documentary exploring the story of Portsmouth’s grassroots music scene, and we want to capture it properly.

We’re looking to speak with the artists, promoters, and creatives who helped shape the local landscape over the years. We’re also hunting for original archive material—old gig posters, flyers, ticket stubs, photos, and video footage.
Filming starts this August.
