I’m backing Portsmouth’s City of Culture bid to become Uk City of Culture 2029 because I’ve seen first-hand what creativity can do for this place and the people who live here. Dance Jam has benefited from the support and advice from Portsmouth Creates. I’ve watched how access to culture genuinely empowers people, builds confidence, and strengthens our sense of identity as a city.
For me, Portsmouth Creates represents everything I love about this community. It’s a not‑for‑profit organisation rooted in the belief that creativity should be for everyone, not just a select few. Artists, residents, local organisations, and city partners all coming together to make something bigger than any one of us could do alone.
