Let's look at some of the wonderful community venues across Southeast Hampshire, where People and Stories productions come to life. First up, The Black Barn on Hayling Island: a 300-year old beauty, constructed from the stones of the island's medieval Priory, and the timbers of a German ship wrecked on its shores. With a micro-brewery on site, it makes a wonderful location for community gatherings and events.

Over the last six years, we've programmed work across 50+ community venues across our 'Creative Harbour Touring Network'. This urban touring initiative has improved the reach of professional theatre into our local communities, while establishing a model of environmentally-friendly 'slow touring'.

It was a privilege to accompany Admiral Ramsay's grandson, Will Ramsay, on a visit yesterday to the Queens Hotel Portsmouth, the Southwick Revival, and The D-Day Story, in commemoration of D-Day and the Admiral's special relationship with Southeast Hampshire. So too was it wonderful to spend time with local inspiration and code-breaker Dorothy Walsh, who shared memories of Bletchley and Alan Turing.

Congratulations to People and Stories Associate Artist, Amani Hawa, who's classical music vocal training culminated in an extraordinary concert at the University of Chichester Conservatoire last week, with a much-deserved standing ovation. Like all of our associates, Amani's tenacity and versatility is evident in spades!
