We love Barry's Looking Back At The History Of Barry's Amusements Portrush It is a popular family attraction for visitors to the area.

Barry's Amusements is the largest theme park in Northern Ireland and also the largest on the island of Ireland.[1] It is situated in the centre of Portrush on the north coast. In 1925, traveling members of the Chipperfield and Trufelli circus families were invited by the local railway company to permanently locate in Portrush on a site beside the railway station. The name 'Barry's' is based on an early supplier (Barr). Barry's maintains a mixture of traditional and modern amusements.

More than just a “ Hobby “ for young Adam .

It was a case of .. like grandfather like grandson whenever young Adam Hanson from Portrush took up his new job at Currys Funpark in Portrush . Unbeknown to his fellow workmates Adam was following in the footsteps of his famous grandfather Colm Quinn.
Known to many as the “ Hobby Horse Man “ Colm was the smiling guardian of his horses for over 60 years . For thousands of visitors over the years, no visit to the iconic venue was complete without a friendly wave and a “ mind yourself ” from Colm .
Young Adam has certainly inherited the family smile but prefers to keep a lower profile in his first year at Currys Funpark and realises he has a few years to catch up with grandfather Colm .. 59 to be precise , but it’s definitely in the blood .
Sadly Colm passed away at the age of 79 but his memory and his famous phrase “ Be good to your mammies “ will live long .
