Did you see the Boon Boat during ? It's a net zero electric pontoon boat designed as a high stability platform for R&D, Education and leisure, powered entirely by integrated semi-transparent solar photovoltaics merged with AI-optimised power.

We were extremely lucky to be able to use the Boon Boat as a floating stage for the Friday night element of the boatfolk Big Weekend, a fabulous platform to showcase the talents of Finnian McGurk, Lloren & Hamish Jeffcott 🎶

A belated post from Sunday when as many of the activities happened as the weather would allow 💨

We had kayaking, mega SUP & paddle boarding (which the mermaids *may* have joined in with 🧜‍♀️😂) from Adventure 4 All, sadly the wind was too high to allow the keelboat sailing with Andrew Simpson Centres to go ahead 😭

Huge thanks to Pantaenius UK for their sponsorship of the activities allowing young people in our local area to try something they haven’t done before 👏🏼🤩

We’re slowing catching up on everything after a fabulous week so watch this space for more posts & news on next year’s festival!

Happening tomorrow afternoon at Portland Week!

This Portland Week, we're rolling out the glittery carpet! 🌊

On Sunday, 25th August from 3-4pm, join us at Portland Marina for a pop-up catwalk event and make some waves in the fashion world! Ever dreamed of strutting your stuff like a glittering star(fish) on the runway? Now’s your chance! Whether you're a style-savvy strutter or just out for a walk with the dog, your time to shine is here. Our pop-up catwalk is for everyone—even your sea-dog companions!🐕

A regular dog walk can transform into a fabulous fashion moment, complete with cheers from our folklore-inspired, sea-themed hosts straight from the depths of the ocean and a dress-up rail!

Before you hit the runway, stop by our free drop-in workshops, we’re around from 1-3pm to help you craft a glorious mermaid crown or make your very own jellyfish hologram! Each craft is quick and easy, drop in whenever you like, bring a phone if you want to make a hologram!

It’s free, it’s fabulous, and it’s your five minutes of fame. So come on down, Portland community, and let’s celebrate the dazzling diversity that makes us all shine! See you on the catwalk— Get ready to look absolutely fin-tastic!

We’re sad to say we’re missing one beach clean this Portland Week due to the weather, but we’ll be back on Sunday morning!
The rain is due to clear by the time the wacky races, paddle parade & live music starts so don’t stay away, come on down & play!!!

Due to forecasted awful weather, we've cancelled tomorrow's (Saturday) beach clean.

It'll be back on for Sunday though!

Mermaid meet n greet is still on today 🧜‍♀️👏🏼 We’ll do Q&A with our lovely mermaids in the event marquee where you can also have your photo taken with them & there *may* be some mermaids swimming about in the marina so you can see them in their natural habitat 🧜‍♀️🌊🫧

Due to the ePropulsion time trial being cancelled tomorrow morning due to the forecast wind & the popularity of the seaweed bingo, we’ll be running another bingo session at 11am tomorrow (Thursday) 🥳
