In less than 48 hours, I’ve gone from an empty diary to just 4 appointments left until Monday.

Turns out it WAS the calm before the storm.

Is this the calm before the storm… 👀

This has been our busiest week of the year for the last 5 years, yet right now it’s suspiciously quiet 😂

If history repeats itself, by the end of the week I’ll be getting hundreds of “Have you got ANYTHING available?!” messages 😬

Just overheard a team outside after playing The Orphan’s Key…

I’m taking it as a compliment. They did actually love it… they were just petrified 👻😂

🚨 PSA #2 🚨

We need to have a little chat about ENTHUSIAST MODE 😂

Enthusiast Mode does not mean:

“I’m enthusiastic.”
“I like puzzles.”
“I’m pretty clever.”
“I’ve watched The Crystal Maze.”
“This is my first escape room but how hard can it be?” 😬

It is designed for experienced escape room players who regularly escape rooms with plenty of time left on the clock and want us to make things considerably harder.

If you’ve never done an escape room before, please, for the love of padlocks, DO NOT BOOK ENTHUSIAST MODE. 😂

There is absolutely no shame in playing Standard Mode. It’s the full game, it’s still challenging, and I promise I won’t think any less of you.

Enthusiast Mode exists for the people who keep ruining my carefully planned 60-minute experience by escaping in 32 minutes.

(And don’t even get me started on “Make It Painful” mode… if you have to ask, it’s not for you 😂)

A little behind-the-scenes PSA from your local escape room owner… 😂

When your confirmation email says “Please arrive at your exact appointment time”, I promise I’m not just being awkward.

If you arrive 10–15 minutes early and find the door locked, there’s a very good chance I’m inside:

🔧 fixing something the last team broke
🪛 screwing something back onto a wall
🧹 resetting the room at Olympic speed
🏃‍♀️ running around like a woman possessed
😅 whispering “please work, please work, please work” at a prop

I genuinely work right up until the second your appointment starts to make sure everything is ready for your game.

So if you’re early and I leave you standing there, please don’t be offended or irritated. Go grab a coffee, admire the beautiful sights of Porthmadog, question your life choices… whatever takes your fancy. 😂

Then come back at your appointment time and I’ll magically appear looking calm and professional, as though the previous 15 minutes never happened.

You saw nothing 👀

Remember, staring directly at the eclipse can cause permanent eye damage…

So can watching escape room teams on CCTV for 12 hours a day. Trust me
