Who doesn’t like elephants.

I was working on this lately and it never ceases to interest me how great these big wrinkly long nosed gray things are.

In a big mount and dark frame this would really stand out.

This is a3 on 300 cold pressed card.
Original is £200.
Prints £25.

Last night I had the pleasure of attending another artist talk in the Millennium Court, Portadown.

The last one was brilliant and you know what… they get better every time. Again the conversation was led by artist and creative Noelle McAlinden. I have to say her interview style leaves you feeling like your friends with the subject and last night was no exception.

The artists were Samantha and Annita McKee. Their exhibition “Worry Worlds” is an ambitious and compelling creation by the sisters involving photography, ceramics, installation, and multimedia elements.

I found the information about the process the sisters have very interesting. The synergy they have is like a well oiled machine and they both have distinct roles in creating their exhibition work.

I find as an artist that I enjoy listening to others that have different approaches to being creative. Strangely enough I’m not the only one who thinks of ideas late at night though as the sisters confirmed they often communicate by late night post-it’s.

Anyway not to give away too much of what was spoken about but one thing is sure there is an octopus that likes to steal chairs somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean.

My favourite quote in relation to the works was by Samantha and she said “every mark is made with intent” and that seems to be very evident in the work.

It’s watercolour on 300gsm cold pressed card. It’s a3 and the original is for sale as well as prints. Prints are £25 and the original is £200. For all teachers and ex teachers who worked here it’s only £20 for a print.
