I have just returned from a week in Torry, Aberdeen with Lee MacKenzie over Easter rehearsing and arranging 'Ophelia'.
We had a small kitchenet to rehearse in, in my Air B&B.
It was a very busy and successful week and we are well on our way to performance level probably starting in the late summer.
I have also been working on the songbook to go with the performance.

HAPPY CHRISTMAS everyone!

Well 2025 is drawing to a close and Lee and I have just had our first rehearsal weekend for 'Ophelia' which we hope to be performing by May/June 2026!
Here is a preview of a poster with an amazing picture by daughter Sarah which I used on the original CD in 2002. The picture was not painted with this project in mind but for me it inspired the image of the brooding melancholy Hamlet and the innocent Ophelia and a tragedy foretold.
We are looking forward to bringing this to you in 2026.

HAPPY NEW YEAR
Bob

Thank you to everyone who came to the concert in Sutton Poyntz last night and Sue for organising the evening. It was a lovely evening and good to dust off some old songs and get out performing solo for a rare change. Bob

'Anne Boleyn - Wolf at the Door' Saturday 27th September 7.00 pm recorded in St James's Church, Kingston, Dorset available on the Ninebarrow Presents platform with tickets from the Ninebarrow website shop. The final concert and World Premier.
A musical tale of love and Tudor tragedy. Bob Whitley (guitars and mandola) and Lee MacKenzie (cello) take us back to the 16th Century and the story of the triumph and tragedy of Anne Boleyn.
In a Tudor court of scheming courtiers, religious fervour and feuding families all are fighting for the King’s favour in a deadly battle of destinies and dynasties.

After the Athelhampton Anne Boleyn concert an audience member asked if I would play at their hall. I decided that it might be good to dust off some of my older material and so I agreed. Now I have to get practising the songs. The concert will be in aid of Shelter, The Trussell Trust and the hall and is on Saturday 18th October 2025 at Sutton Poyntz near Weymouth, Dorset.
