Kids Camera Action Filmmaking school for kids aged 7-16 in Dorset. Young crews and teen crews come to our Saturday morning film school which is held during term time 10-12.

ONE WEEK TO GO!

There's still time to book in for our action-packed 3 Day Film School next Wednesday 14th - Friday 16th August in Broadstone!

Over three days the crew will write, perfom and shoot their own short film to be shown at our Red Carpet Premiere at the cinema... there are a few places still remaining for any budding filmmakers who would like to join the crew!

Brand new for this summer, we are introducing filmmaking taster sessions at the National Trust’s Kingston Lacy estate.

During the session, the crew will have the chance to film, direct and star in a mini-movie set in the woodlands at Kingston Lacy.

Each workshop is limited to 12 places to ensure the kids get plenty of opportunity for hands-on filming, coached by our team of professional filmmakers. This is a great chance to make some new friends, get creative, and learn some tips and tricks of the film industry - all in the beautiful natural surroundings of the woodland area!

RNLI: 200 Years
Spring Term Documentary 2024

For Spring Term 2024, the crew were challenged to research and make a documentary on a topic of their choosing in 10 weeks. They chose to mark 200 years of the RNLI which has its headquarters just down the road in Poole.

The team worked super hard to produce something interesting and inspiring - and we were really impressed by their professionalism on location.

A huge thanks to the crew and volunteers at Poole Lifeboat Station and everyone at the RNLI who helped us make this!

HAUS OF MYSTERIES

Written and filmed over just 3 days in the Summer holidays, Haus of Mysteries is a Potter-inspired adventure in the magical Spell Archives.

This film was lots of fun and involved some technical camera work and practical effects... and a little bit of low-budget movie magic involving sellotape!

WHISPERS IN THE SHADOWS

Our term time crew had 10 weeks to write, film and star in their own short film. This year, we kicked off the project with a script writing workshop which focused on the Hero's Journey, which our crew then used to structure their own story.

This is a mad-cap gallop through an ambitious storyline that starts in Victorian London and visits a parallel dimension, with some memorable characters and talking animals along the way! We hope you enjoy it!

This time last week we were headed to the wonderful Rex Cinema in Wareham for our annual Red Carpet Premiere!

The kids had produced 4 brilliant films over the summer term and holiday club: Whispers in the Shadows, Haus of Mysteries and two behind the scenes films.

It is always the highlight of our KCA year - it's so great to see the kids dressed up for the red carpet and to get to celebrate their achievements with family and friends. Well done to both crews for their hard work and creativity!
