Introducing our upcoming production ✨✨The Magic Behind The Curtain ✨✨

"For years, I thought these walls had forgotten us, that the echoes of laughter and the songs had vanished forever. But I kept the ghost-light burning - a small flame in the dark. A promise that this theatre's magic would never fade."

A heart-warming musical journey featuring songs you know and love, our upcoming concert will feature both our talented adult and junior members; and is in excellent hands creatively.

A carefully-crafted concept created by our Sylvia Walpole winner Hilary Baker, ably assisted by Alan Colclough, Hermione Mason and Raymond Baker, the show promises to be a musical treat for audiences young and old.

Shrek After Show Party 2026! 🥳👏💚✨

Celebrating our most recent show, our Shrek cast, crew, family and friends came together last Sunday with fantastic weather to unwind with a well-deserved BBQ, cake and lawn games after a very hectic but successful week previous! Any excuse for a social at WMTS!👏

We were also able to announce Hilary Baker as our very deserving winner of the Sylvia Walpole Award 2026.

Thanks to Oakley Village Butchers for helping with the catering for this event. Highly recommended!

The Sylvia Walpole Award 2026

To remember our late chairman who sadly passed away during the run of The Sound of Music in 2025, the society established the Sylvia Walpole Award; to be awarded annually to someone in the society who has gone above and beyond, someone who has really made an outstanding contribution to WMTS, just like the award's namesake did, year in, year out.

The 2026 winner had an overwhelming number of member votes which reflects the impact this person has had across the Society in the years she's been us. She continually and selflessly dedicates a huge amount of her time and energy to Wimborne Musical Theatre Society; with her efforts reflected year in and year out in the quality of our shows.

This year in particular, the shows would not have been able to 'go on' without her. Not only is our winner the treasurer on committee, but she has also organised costumes, makeup and hair; and played a significant role in fund raising from the Corfe Mullen Carnival to Cream Teas to Murder Mysteries. Our winner also is our point of contact for our junior cast, playing a vital role in their safeguarding and happiness whilst they're with us. The relationship between our junior cast and our winner is truly heart-warming.

These are the things chosen to do to help the Society but there are also many things done without even trying. The kindest, most caring lady, she will always go out of her way to ensure that everyone is having a good time and is being cared for. The whole society is grateful to our affectionately nicknamed 'Mama Bear'.

More than anything this year, our winner reminds us that societies are built not just by ideas, but by selfless people willing to give their time and energy to others. Thank you.

WHAT A SHOW!

We've been completely overwhelmed by the love shown and the positive feedback, from our incredible audiences, reviewers, cast and crew alike!

We think it's safe to say, Shrek the Musical will go down as one of our society's most successful to date - and it's solely thanks to the support of each and every one of you - whether on stage, off stage, or in the audience. We couldn't have done it without you.

Our WMTS family are already missing the swamp and many of us have got MAJOR post-show blues...
Luckily... as Donkey would say "Oooh we've got the perfect remedy for that..." More WMTS productions! Details released soon.
