🎻Meet the Soloist - Rose Gosney 🎻
Violinist Rose Gosney is rapidly establishing herself as a compelling young artist, recognised for her emotional depth and technical assurance. She has been praised for her “exemplary leadership” (BBC Proms) and described as “one to watch” (BBC Young Musician).
Rose has earned many awards, including the Music at Beaulieu Award, Leverhulme and Blavatnik Scholarships, and the inaugural Pelham Award. She was a BBC Young Musician Quarterfinalist and was concertmaster of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain during their 2023-24 season. Rose has studied with Akiko Ono, Lorraine McAslan, performed in masterclasses with Luke Hsu and is currently studying with Professor Robin Wilson at the Royal Academy of Music.
Since making her professional debut at age nine—performing a duet with Nicola Benedetti in the Royal Gala Concert commemorating Yehudi Menuhin’s centenary—Rose has appeared in major concert halls across the UK and her concerto performances include sell-out performances of the Bruch, Mendelssohn and Korngold Violin Concertos. Rose has collaborated with some of the UK’s most distinguished chamber musicians and Festivals across the UK including the Solent Music Festival and Romsey Chamber Music Festival, where she performed alongside leading artists including Sam Haywood, Katherine Spencer, Rainer Crosett, Laura Rickard and Dina Duisen. Rose was also the Spotlight Artist for the We Have One World concert, presented in partnership with Florian Leonhard Fine Violins in support of Save the Children.
