The Ponty Chapter Book Club is tomorrow, Weds 2nd September. We meet at 7pm in the lounge of The District Club. Last month's book was The Hail Mary Project by Andy Weir.
Read it? Great, come along and discuss it in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere.
Haven't read it? No problem, come along and listen to what others thought, and maybe go on to discuss some other good reads too.
Never been to a book club before, or nervous of coming out by yourself? Don't be! Everyone is welcome, and more importantly, made to feel welcome!
This is a very relaxed club, where monthly attendance is definitely not mandatory! Come along for the book chat, and keep coming for the friendliness and inclusion (and sometimes, cake!!)

🎛️ FREE TO A GOOD HOME – MACKIE MIXING DESK

Bit of a clear-out at Pontypridd & District Club and we’ve unearthed this old Mackie CFX20 MKII 20-channel mixing desk.

It’s been sitting around for a long time and we genuinely don’t know if it works, so it’s being offered completely FREE, as seen and untested.

Seems a shame to throw something like this in a skip if someone can get some use out of it, repair it, use it for spares or just enjoys tinkering with old audio gear.

FREE – first come, first served.

🎸 WHAT A NIGHT AT THE DISTRICT! 🤘

A massive thank you to Deadwood as Maidtallica for a cracking night last night! 🔥

Banging out all the big hitters from Iron Maiden and Metallica, they had the room rocking and created a brilliant atmosphere from start to finish. 🤘🎶

Most importantly, thank you to everyone who came along and supported the night. A great turnout, a great crowd and exactly the sort of atmosphere we love to see upstairs at The District. ❤️

Thanks for supporting live music at your local club — nights like this only happen because you turn up! 🍻

🎶☀️ TUNES ON THE TARMAC – WHAT A DAY! ☀️🎶

Well, our first Tunes on the Tarmac is done — and what a cracking afternoon it turned out to be!

The weather played ball and there was so much quality live music from Jordan, Under the Yew, Kurt Jones, The Crawdaddies and Kin El. A massive thank you to every one of you — you absolutely delivered. 👏🎸🎤

The sound outside was superb, the sun was shining and the lovely smell of the BBQ was drifting across the car park. 🌭🔥☀️

And you lot certainly turned up! We ended up pulling pretty much every table we could out of the bar to find somewhere for everyone to sit! 😂🍻

There were plenty of great moments throughout the afternoon, but a special mention has to go to Kayleigh, who apparently couldn’t even make it back to her table with a hot dog without breaking into a dance halfway across the Tarmac! 🌭💃😂
That’s the sort of atmosphere we like!

For our first attempt at doing something like this outside, it was brilliant to see the Tarmac full of people enjoying live music, a few drinks, good food and a bit of sunshine.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and supported it, and to everyone who helped behind the scenes to make the day happen.

And when things wound down outside, District Sessions kept the live music going in the bar. 🎙️🎶

Great music, great sound, great crowd, great weather — and even a Hot Dog Dance! 🌭💃☀️🎸
