Accompanying my son on his first ultra event 😃 the weather is awful, wet and windy just the way we don’t like it 🤪 here are the live feed checkpoint times if fancy following our journey along the Cornish coast.

The Classic Quarter is a relentless Ultra Marathon along the south Cornish coast in the UK from Lizard Point to Land's End. First hosted in 2007 each year the event grows in global reputation.

The task is brutally simple: to run non-stop from the southernmost point of England (Lizard Point), to the western most tip (Lands End), along the legendary South West Coast Path. This translates to running 90 degrees of the compass, hence the name, Classic Quarter.

TREVORNICK 10K RACE DAY | Coastal Running in Cornwall 🏃‍♂️🌊

Today we headed down to Trevornick Holiday Park in Cornwall for a brilliant 10K race along the stunning Cornish coastline. Fast sections, rolling hills, sea air, and some tough moments towards the end made this a proper race day experience.

In this video you’ll see:
• Pre-race atmosphere
• Scenic coastal running shots
• Race highlights and pacing
• Honest mid-race struggle
• Finish line reaction
• Cornwall running scenery at its best

The conditions were ideal and the route delivered some incredible views throughout the run. Definitely one of those events where you’re battling the course while trying to appreciate the scenery at the same time.

Tonight’s run takes me along the rugged cliffs from Lansallos towards Polperro, where the sea crashes below and the shadows start to stretch. But this isn’t just another night run — hidden within these rocks lies a cave tied to one of Cornwall’s most infamous smugglers, Willie Wilcock.

As the light fades and the temperature drops, the atmosphere shifts. The path narrows, the wind picks up, and the sense of being alone out here starts to feel… not quite right.

Was this coastline once used to hide contraband under the cover of darkness? And are those just the sounds of the sea… or something else watching from the cave?

This is the Cornish Runner — after dark.

Out on a run through Polperro and stumbled across this — a tiny lighthouse with a big job.

Snetson’s Tower was built in 1911 to guide fishing boats safely through the narrow and often dangerous harbour entrance. In poor weather or darkness, lining this light up with the gap between the houses helped crews steer straight through and avoid the rocks.

It’s one of those easy-to-miss bits of history — but when you stop and think about it, this little light would’ve meant everything to the people coming home from sea.
