I so nearly missed tonight's sunset due to a rogue swan crossing the road... Sorry no punchline (skip to last image) 😂
At 5pm I saw clouds were beginning to form and the potential for a good sunset. Sometimes the clouds bank a bit too much on the horizon line and nothing materialises, but it's worth the trip out in the hope that the pieces do fall into place! Tonight was one such night.

I say it every year - how lucky we are in Plymouth to have such a nationally prestigious competition to be held each year. And equally I can't think of another place that offers the quality of amphitheatre the Plymouth Sound offers. You can watch the displays from more than 180 degrees around the bay, and in many aves it feels like you're at eye level with the high rockets - a real spectacle.

The time, energy and planning which must go into these competitive displays must run into the thousands on every front - yet it all comes down to the push of a button and a hope the fire, fuses and sparks all go in your favour. The teams competing in the Championships always deliver fantastic displays, this year was no different.

The cycle route from Pollença out to the lighthouse and back (one road) features 3 climbs, a pine forest valley and some switchback descents; a bit of everything… even snow on the roadside on this day.

Referred to by many as the best coastal road in the world, I’ll have to admit it’s got to be a contender. Particularly when enjoyed by bike. The blue of the Mediterranean, the smell of the pine trees, the heat of the Spanish sun and the twists of the stunning coast road - absolutely stunning.
