If you regularly get gel manicures—or do them at home—take note! 💅

New UK cosmetic regulations coming into force this August mean products containing TPO (a photoinitiator used to cure gel under UV light) can no longer be placed on the market. The chemical is being banned after being reclassified over potential reproductive health risks.

The good news? There’s no need to cancel your nail appointments. Most professional salons and brands have already switched to updated, TPO-free formulas.
