Hello, lovley Community!

I'm excited to invite you to join me for a special CHARITY sip and draw in the evening on June 21st for Alzheimers Society!

On July 6th, I will be walking a marathon to raise money for this incredible charity and I am fortunate enough to be able to set up this event with richard to allow us to have a evening filled with laughs, bums and what we may call a bit of drawing, but remember this event is primarily for the charity fundraiser. Therefore, this isn't an art class, this is ideal for all skills of art, as its for a laugh, it's a fun filled evening to raise money for charity, but also have a funny girls night with a few bubbles and laughs in aid of an incredible cause! I will be there to assist anyone who would like help with drawing or any tips, but the most important thing from this is that we all have fun! And we're raising funds for Alzheimers Society!

Hey, so I've either forgot how much it hurts or I've gone mad, but I will be walking 26 miles again this July for Alzheimers Society again this year!
If you can spare anything to help, even if it's a £1 that would make all the difference! It will help someone who needs support during such a tough time!
I am also taking comissions of all sorts on my art page: ,where all the proceedings will be donated to this cause!
Thank you!!
To Donate: click the link in my bio, or pm me and I can help:))

FREE WORKSHOP
Embrace is a public- artist collaborative workshop which I will lead. The workshops intent is to both teach you about the process of plaster making and to allow yourself to consider yours and others essence, movements and pressures surrounding hugging as an action.
ALL LEVEL OF ART SKILLS ARE WELCOME, so please do not feel the pressure to know anything about art at all, this is meant to be a fun experience, with the chance to learn more about plaster and art making.
The workshop is intended for the participants to join for both aspects of the activity, however there is no pressure to come to both. The activity will be proceeding on the 24th May, (Which I have limited spaces for, so please contact me as soon as possible if you would like to be involved.) and the reflection will be on the 25th May, where everyone is invited to view the artworks produced on the 24th in a one day exhibition.
WORKSHOP DURATION:
24th May: 2pm-5pm.
2pm-2:30pm – Introduction.
2:30-4:30pm – Learning about plaster and making of the plaster hugs.
4:30-5pm – Clean-up / Reflection.
25th May: The exhibition will be open from 11am-5pm. Feel free to come and go as you please during this time. I will be at the exhibition during these hours if you wish to ask me any questions, comment on the workshop, or comment on the exhibition. – There will be a book also to write these in if you do not with to talk with me directly.
PLEASE NOTE: If you would like to be involved with the workshop I do ask that you are 18+ and have no issues regarding being filmed during the workshop. I will have to ask you to sign a release form for any footage that will be shot during the workshop.
LOCATION: 44 Regent St, Plymouth PL4 8BD
The meeting point will be outside the entrance to the postgraduate centre for Plymouth college of art. If you have any issues with finding the location please private message me and I can help you find the location or meet you at the colleges entrance.

Deflating vs Expanding.
I produced these two experiments to express how it felt to live as a larger individual doing normal things such as looking in the mirror, walking down the street and even eating dinner public-ally. Having multiple versions of yourself being produced in your mind depending on the situation. I did not always dislike my body, I would love my body some days before leaving the house, but peoples comments or looks would change my mood. I'm hoping possibly with these I can try and show more how it is to live in a larger body, continuously questioning yourself how big or small you are that day? Continuously doubting your self worth because of a simple look (which may not even be meant in that way, but I and many other larger women have been conditioned to believe that people look at us and see merely fat bodies, and not a worthy human).
I would love to be able to make multiple of these in a large room, to express how everyday I felt different.

Things not going the way you planned is not failure.
(Have to ignore the edges, I used whatever I found on my desk. It's only an experiment at the end of the day)
I wanted to take the time to express that not everything goes to plan in my work, much like others I am guessing. However, it seems like when we show work and express ourselves online everything has to be perfect and well presented. Even tho that is not the way it is in reality 80% of the time. A lot of my work doesn't go as to plan, or can bring other ideas to my project, however it's all natural and important in the process of an art practice.
This one I had planned for it to bulge much like my metal structure did with the material and flour, however it turns out the flour is too heavy for the stitching. But I don't consider it a failure. More a experiment in the process of my practice. Every experiment is important, no matter if it works or not.

Ballsssss.
Scroll to see more ways of viewing the stitched piece of fabric. ----> ----> ---->
As I'm experimenting a lot with stitching into the polyamide elastane/ tights I have been experimenting with how my sculptures will lay and sit when I have attached more then one piece of fabric together. I'm loving how when I placed the stitched tights on the floor it created a dough form, it instantly made me think of bread. I wondered if I could possibly play around with the idea of having multiples? And think about actually adding real balls of dough next to them?
It's interesting how when on the floor and then on the wall the sculpture completely changes its form and concept. When hung, it reminds me of the Male ge****ls. It represents both the concepts I am trying to perceive however it also allows a masculine quality ot my work to show through. I think its intriguing. As I dont not think about the male body, I just primarily work on the female body as I am a a female who's working through lived experiences. I like to think my work is not particularly about either s*x when perceived but there are qualities in some of my works which represent more female and then more male body parts. Understanding this and its positions and displays will be something I need to explore more.

Busy busy day today. Beginning in casting (casting my metal for structure), and then to textiles, where I learnt more about the baby locker (stitches the tights), and their other normal stitch machines. Plus sketchbook work. I'm very excited to finish the X sculpture. Fingers crossed it will be very soon.

'Saggy', 2020.
Initially I decided I would use this work as more of a sculptural piece, however when I displayed the work it did not lay the way I had originally hoped. I felt a deflation and an upset as this piece of work was important for my own self development as a person. However, I than remembered I bought the sports bra in my size so that I could possibly use it after/ if I did not go ahead with the experiment I could then use it without it being a waste of money. Therefore, before I knew it I had the work on myself. This was certainly a new experience for me in which I need to reflect on, however I enjoyed the relation of the work and my fat body. (Brought to me a lot of inspiration and ideas).
