!!COMING UP AT TEXTUALLY ACTIVE!!

Textually Active - Spotlight: Holly Knowles

Holly Knowles uses drawing as a meditative process to explore concepts of time and space. With each drawing he sets out rules at the beginning relating to theories such as quantum mechanics and chaos theory, then follows them rigidly until its completion. The language of drawing acts as a visual record of progression, with time itself being his primary tool.

For Textually Active Holly Knowles will be drawing live; finishing his latest work and beginning his next, while answering questions about his practice.

!!COMING UP AT TEXTUALLY ACTIVE!!

Textually Active - Spotlight: Rosie King

Rosie King is a multi-media artist who is currently studying Fine Art and Art History at Plymouth University. She is interested in asking questions about narrative and site. Recent work has included projections on Plymouth Hoe, performative walks, and fake adverts.

'As part of my ongoing project as an artist-spy-investigator I will present for Textually Active my recent research into the unbelievable, and the extent of government surveillance. During the presentation I will examine the effects of mass surveillance on our society and question why privacy is important'.
