Four Ford Fiestas are making waves across Plymouth as part of Intertidal, a new public artwork by artist David Cotterrell.

The cars have been transformed into tidal instruments, with water inside each vehicle rising and falling in time with Plymouth’s tides.

The first four can be found at Tinside Lido, Mount Batten, The Box, and Mount Edgcumbe, before moving to new locations across the city throughout September and October.

Keep an eye out for them as you explore Plymouth and see the tide in a whole new way.

The play offers a glimpse into the woman behind her bold, playful paintings, with one of her works being completed live on stage.

It's a unique celebration of one of Plymouth’s most beloved artists, marking what would have been her 100th birthday.
