Phoenix Chorale are now becoming well established throughout Devon. Delivering two formal concerts each year, the choir are fast broadening their repertoire and are capable of competent performances from any genre from over the last 400 years. We are a non-auditioned choir but expect members to have a good musicality and basic understanding of choral singing.

What a fantastic Singing Day we had today with the wonderfully talented and inspiring Rory McCleery. He taught us some history and techniques of singing plainsong, with the emphasis on listening to one another and the shaping of phrases. He then led us through examples of early English and European polyphonic music based on liturgical chant. We had a great turnout and all thoroughly enjoyed the day thanks to his infectious enthusiasm. With thanks to St Peter & the Holy Apostles, Plymouth and to all who came to join us today ๐Ÿ™
