Saturday was brilliant! 🔥

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to Flameworks last Saturday. We loved welcoming you into our creative community and showing you around our studios.

Our makers always love having visitors in the building, chatting about their work, sharing what they’re making and telling you about the events and workshops they have coming up.

If you missed this one, don’t worry! We’ll be opening our doors again for Devon Artist Network and Open Studios for two whole weekends in September:

🗓️ 12–13 September
🗓️ 19–20 September

Come and meet our makers, explore the studios and see what’s being made here at Flameworks. We’d love to see you! ❤️

Meet Zoe Clare, ✨

Inspired by botanical forms, Zoe creates striking ceramic sculptures for both indoor and outdoor spaces.

Studying the growth patterns and movement of flora, Zoe imagines new organic forms shaped by interactions with other species and the world around them. Through a meticulous coiling process, she creates intricate sculptural vessels with richly textured exteriors that contrast beautifully with vibrant glazed interiors.

You'll be able to find Zoe's work on our stand at in Bovey Tracey, where we'll be showcasing a selection of work from Flameworks makers.

Tobias creates borosilicate glass jewellery and objects that capture light, colour and movement.

Using traditional lampworking techniques, he incorporates flecks of precious metals such as gold and silver into the glass, creating unique, ethereal patterns within each piece. Alongside his jewellery, Tobias also produces drinking vessels and decorative glassware.

You'll be able to find Tobias' work on our stand at in Bovey Tracey, where we'll be showcasing a selection of work from Flameworks makers.

Meet Belinda Read, .belinda ✨

Belinda is a sculptural ceramic artist who creates illustrated, narrative-led pieces that explore the complexities of human emotion through a lens of black humour.

Combining hand-building, throwing, embossing and experimental glazing techniques, her work challenges traditional ideas of ceramics while encouraging conversation and reflection on the experiences that connect us.
