Choir leader opportunity in Plymouth!! Please share widely:

Plymouth Community Choir is looking for a new leader with energy and skills to build the choir up and take it forward with renewed zest. The choir meets on Monday evenings and is run on a drop-in or half-termly payments basis. It is a long established choir which attracts people from the local area who want fun and accessible sessions with the challenge of rich harmonies.

There is a core of committed attendess, but numbers have been dropping. My commitments elsewhere have meant I can't put the time and energy in which this choir deserves. This choir could be built up from where it is now, or re-launched in your own style.

The wonderful Sarah Pennington is leading the next two sessions! She was sad to leave last September so is looking forward to coming and reconnecting with the choir.

A very merry Christmas and a happy New Year from Plymouth Community Choir!

Our new term starts on Monday 9th January. New singers are welcome to come along for a taster session.

I am planning a lovely spring repertoire and we'll start working on this as soon as we come back.

Here we are singing at Dartington Craft Fair! It was such a lovely event to be part of and the singers did brilliantly 🎶

Plymouth Community Choir will be joining forces with my two other current choirs, Riversong and Dartmoor Harmony, to sing at Dartington Craft Fair on Saturday 3rd December. I'm looking forward to our first outing together in the wonderful environment of the Great Hall.

This wonderful gathering of makers and designers will see over 40 stalls showcase a wide selection of contemporary craft and design including jewellery, ceramics, prints, textiles and much, much more!

Plymouth Community Choir will meet tomorrow 24th October as we're not having a half term break. I'm only just getting going with this lovely group so don't stop me now!

If you're not sure if you want to be in the choir you are very welcome to come along and try us out with no commitment. We have some great singers and quick learners who help things along and give confidence to the tentative.

We're started our seasonal repertoire with the rabble rousing New Year Carol, a traditional Welsh carol arranged in harmony by Ali Burns. It's fun to sing!!
