Hi there, you may have notices we've been offline for a little while. We have relocated and have been working on some exciting things behind the scenes.

We have been working with medical students at the University of Plymouth for the last few years as advocates for the transgender community. The group we have been working with this year have been creating a Web series which we encourage you to gander at, .for.med on Instagram and tik tok.

We've also just signed a contract with an artist for a really exciting project that is finally being pulled out from R&D which we hope to share details of with you soon.

We will do our best to keep you posted over the coming weeks and are excited about the future.

'That Girl'- R & D

15th - 17th February 2023
Barbican Theatre Plymouth

Ugly Duck Theatre are casting for three days of R & D of their new work 'That Girl'. This coming of age piece explores gender, identity and follows the life of two people as they navigate the difficulties of relationships as they grow up.

Actors must be 18+ and willing to explore themes of gender and mental health.

Casting:

BOY: Male identifying, must be able to play intergenerational character.

GIRL: Female identifying, must be able to play intergenerational character.

Throughout the R & D, the writer/director will work with actors to workshop the piece and to explore the narrative. We are looking to work with six actors during the development days at the Barbican Theatre.

At this time, this is an unpaid opportunity however we are hoping to secure funding for further development, and will prioritise those who have been involved in research and development when paid work becomes available.

Pen 2 Print’s 'Write On' magazine (due for publication in June).
