About a year ago, I walked away from a job I genuinely loved.

Not because I wanted to, but because staying was slowly destroying me.
Sometimes circumstances leave you feeling like you have no real choice except to leave something you love and save yourself.

Since then, I’ve been trying to rebuild everything... my confidence, my routine, my sense of direction, my life.

I was raised with the mindset that you grow up, get a job, work hard for someone else, and stay grateful for it. Being self-employed, starting a business, creating something of your own… that was never presented as a real option to me.

So this past year has felt f***ing terrifying.

I’m still figuring it out. Still learning. Still unlearning.

And I know this will sound sooo so so corny...

But for the first time in my life I am starting to feel truly free to be myself and free to actually build something.

Someone once looked at one of my light pink and blue earring combinations and said, “Those colours aren’t particularly Scottish, are they?”

And I’ve honestly been waiting for the perfect photo opportunity to say that they absolutely are.

The Highlands are full of colour!

The combinations in my earrings aren’t random or “funky” for the sake of it.

And even if they were random… so what?

We all see beauty differently. We all have different tastes, different ways of expressing ourselves and that’s what makes life beautiful.

Well in my opinion anyway.

Whenever I’m in Glasgow, my first stop is always the Necropolis :)...

I’m not much of a city person (actually I am NOT one at all), and I get overwhelmed quite quickly. All the noise and smells...and the fast pace I am not used to anymore.

This place lets me sit down and take in the city from every angle, giving me a chance to breathe and just absorb it all in peace and quiet...

(I really, really love this picture btw. I can still feel the atmosphere through it. It was a magical evening...)

I think it's a bit of a shame how a place like Dingwall can be so easily overlooked. People often just pass by, maybe stop at Tesco's or Lidl for a bit, then continue on their way...

But Dingwall actually hides a lot of magical little spots like this.

Definitely one of those places that’s worth slowing down for and spending more time in...

Whatever the weather, the Shieldaig Fete is going to be amazing! Pack a waterproof just in case, maybe some suncream too...

So far, I’ve only been selling my knitwear at craft fairs—mostly because my attempts at taking any photos of it have been a total disaster 🤣 (this is the ONLY one that looks somehow decent)...

Either I'll eventually get there or accept my defeat and save up for a professional product photographer...we'll see...

Trying to do it all… and just about managing (most days😅)!

From taking new product photos, sorting through new suppliers, social media, working on the website (which is now live — yay!), to actually making the things and heading out to local craft fairs… it’s a lot 😅.

It’s truly a one-woman show over here, and while good things take time, I definitely wish everything moved just a little faster! Still, every late night and to-do list tick brings it all one step closer...

No two puffins are ever quite the same—especially when they're hand-painted (by me!).
These little guys are deceptively tricky—so much personality packed into such a tiny beak! Each pair ends up with its own wee quirks, which is exactly the joy of handmade ❤️.
