Have you heard of the exciting project called the UK Pollinator Monitoring Scheme (PoMS)? πŸ¦‹πŸ

YOU CAN GET INVOLVED with the flower insect timed count (FIT) βŒ›

This is a 10 min count you can do up until September πŸ•°
All you need to do it record the pollinators that come to your patch for flowers 🌼🌺🌻 either in your garden, balcony, nearby park or any other green space.
Upload your findings of how many pollinators you see on the Fit Count app or download the recording form from www.ukpoms.org.uk πŸπŸ¦‹

There are easy guides you can follow so anyone can get involved!! πŸ€—πŸ€©

πŸ¦‹ Have you seen our fluttering friends this year? When the weather is warm and the sky is bright these magnificent beauties will be out pollinating flowers and are a crucial food source in all stages of their life cycled for our UK wildlife such as birds, mammals, spiders and other insects! 🐦🐜

In the UK we have 59 butterfly species but sadly due to pesticides and habitat loss from increased infrastructure they are in huge decline. We have lost 97% of our wildlife meadows since the 1930s! 🌸🌻🌺🌼

You can get involved in many ways to help save our butterfly friends πŸ¦‹

Help them by planting native, butterfly-friendly plants like ragged Robin and wild thyme. Record any butterflies you see through the iRecord and irecord butterflies apps. also have fun transects you can sign up to to help your local area see which butterflies are about and find ways to help the ones that aren't doing so well!

has joined her butterfly conservation local branch, Surrey & SW London BranchΒ and if the weather is right walks a butterfly transect recording what she sees πŸ¦‹

This is so the local coucils can keep on top of the management in the park to make sure there is enough habitat for butterflies 🌼🌺
