The first time

I saw Dolly Parton was on an album cover.

She had her guitar in hand, blonde bouffant piled high, denim bell bottoms and Daisy Duke shirt knotted at the waist, and I, like her, was bedazzled.

Dolly was proof size is no sign of stature.

She was a powerhouse of woman, one with a heart and mind as big as her phenomenal talent.

When I heard the sad news of her passing, I cried. Which given I never knew her perhaps seems strange.

But some folk’s magic grabs hold and never lets you go.

Without her, the world is a darker place but the stars will shine all the brighter.

Blessed Be Dolly,
and thank you for the memories 🦋

Oh Dolly,

you shall be missed.

The world is now a darker place without you in it but the stars shine all the brighter.

Yesterday we lost one of our hens, her name was Dolly.

Tomorrow I will plant some new seeds to remind me of your legacy and the power of kindness 🦋

F**K ALL AI*

was used in the creation of this art or text.

This dream depiction was made from magic and comes from my imagination, and is a combination of eco-print, watercolour, mixed media and digital.

I’m nae cut oot for content creation, but as an author/illustrator and eco-artist who cares deeply for Mother Nature, can offer you art that is both my heart and home.

I fu***ng refuse to pander to Meta or the demands of the algorithm any longer, and
loathe lathering font over my work.

It screams the art itself isn’t enough.

Or waste precious time writing, editing and creating carousels or reels, that may or may not garner a response, trying to appease folks apathy and appeal to their short attention spans, just to feed their and my already exhausted nervous system.

Nor will I let the machine make me feel as if I come cap in hand.

I make art to share and to sell.

For it to be contemplated, debated and perhaps help change the world.

It takes courage to share your art.

One is laid bare but from darkness, you bring the truth out into the light.

I believe in my art and that it conveys a message of magic and love. Each piece created with a kindred soul in mind.

Wild Art means and is worth far more to me than merely a dopamine hit.

With one thing or another, I’ve been poorly for the better part of two years. Finally, we’ve gotten to the root of it.

This last month, under strict Dr’s orders I “teen ti ma’ bed” as my great-grunny would say.

Sleeping more than usual, I’ve been having some bat s**t crazy dreams and in a bid to translate, put them to paper.

They say it is either drunk or asleep the truth wills out.

If you have read this far, thank you.

Should you wish to take a shot at interpreting this dream, or perhaps tell me a tale of yours, I’m all ears 🖤

YOU DON’T

have to start over to become something beautiful.

I gave my studio a much needed tidy up recently and found myself with stack of scrap paper left over from practice and protecting the worktop.

So rather than sticking it in the bin, I made art using only three things.

Scraps, paint and glue.

With a few bits n bobs left lying around.

Because as my great grunny would say “if ye’ use fit ye’ hiv y’ll nae stick.”

Also adding this collection to Helen Stephens Aug prompt, because while it’s nae a sketchbook per say, it’s definitely sketchy 😃

Lastly, let me know if you spotted the wee hare? ✨🍂🤎🍂✨

It is said

that a creativity leads directly to a sacred path, so I chose to make art rather than try make sense of the world.

I started where I was.
Used what I had.
Did what I could.

Much like my cauldron, creativity is an alchemy, one that transfers emotions into magic.

Air. Fire. Earth. Water.
Feet rooted between the four,
plants the key that unlock the door.
Wild Art, an invitation of heart and home.

Using the alchemy of my cauldron, open flame and the botanica of home, I create Wild Art.

Rich earth magick forged of flame and rust, no two eco-prints the same.

Layered papers sit between Scottish slate swaddled in muslin are placed in the brew and left to stew.

The charm of my process is intuiting what Mother Earth has to say. I tell her story with paint on print using mixed media, watercolour and handcrafted ink and pigments.

Inspired by myths and magick, folk lore and faery tales. Wild Art is created for the curious and curated with Mother Nature in mind.

Working with reclaimed frames and repurposed materials, I magick unique paintings and prints.

Kirsteen is on a mission to create sustainable art that connects and makes all humanity kin.

Original Artwork alongside Fine Art and Prints can be purchased worldwide at the Foggy Bummers website and Etsy Store.

Introducing

Patches n Puddles, and the Cat.

This is my interpretation of Yolandi Yolandi whimsical garden granny for

I’ve not done a in donkeys, so when I saw Yolandi’s, couldn’t resist.

I did switch from my first attempt as she didn’t feel right, but now this Witch is bitty like me 😃

Along with the dogs and the hens, there’s Patches n Puddles, our two ducks.

Patches is a Magpie duck, she is timid, and black and white, and just about everything gives her a fright!

Puddles is an Aylesbury and she has a bright yellow beak and is the colour of snow.

These ducks love a rainy day, splashing in the pond and making stuff muddy. They are also very nosy and fond of pooping wherever they go!

Then there’s Ripley, the Cat.

As black as the night with amber eyes that see in the dark. He comes and he goes. But where to? No one knows.

With talons like a tiger, this cat is catcher extraordinaire. No rat or mouse is safe thanks to his flair. When he’s not ratting, Ripley’s sleeping and has a secret sun spot, it’s there you’ll find him curled up like a knot.

This witch says if you’ve not got nasturtiums, then it’s nae a garden, and at the Black House they grow in abundance.

The flowers are in full bloom and there’s red apples in the orchard, and I think all can agree, here is a grand place to live 🍂
