A NOTE.....or two FOR ALL MEMBERS
All June rehearsals will now take place at our usual venue, The Parish Church of St Oswald & The Sacred Heart.

After careful consideration by the PCO committee and conductor, our afternoon concert at Crowland Abbey on Sunday July 12th, will take place inside the building, rather than out of doors.

Sunday 3rd May, a dozen members spent an hour entertaining visitors to Uffington Scarecrow Festival, near Stamford. A great big thank you to flute Sue Illingworth for leading the group and to Karen Gibbons for her photos from the viola seat.

PCO would like to thank the players and listeners who came along to our open rehearsal last night. We played through nearly all the music we’ve been working on, this term.

We also enjoyed The Maestro’s Musical Quiz, set by conductor Charlie Westbrook. The winners were The Clarinet Choir, joined by our most able oboist. They won a CD of Florence Price’s Symphonies 1&3 and a musical sudoku book. Hopefully they’ll lend their shiny new CD to us all, by turns. We’ve been playing Juba Dance this term, the 3rd movement of Price’s symphony no1.

We resume rehearsals for the summer term on Wednesday 15th April.

Our members aren’t restricted to playing with PCO. Many play with other ensembles. Anne, 1st violin seen here, serenading care home residents on St Valentine’s Day. She plays mainly folk music with other groups. Well done Anne. ❤️
She likes PCO best though. 😜
