Over the last two nights, we’ve had the pleasure of being in attendance at the children’s ensemble auditions for The Wizard of Oz at The Cresset — and what an incredible level of talent we saw! 🌟🎭

The standard was exceptionally high, and the audition panel certainly have a very difficult job ahead of them. Every young performer who auditioned should be extremely proud of themselves for the confidence, energy, and commitment they brought into the room.

It’s fantastic to see another Cresset production continuing to support and showcase the talented young people of Peterborough and surrounding areas, giving them valuable opportunities to perform and develop their skills on stage.

A huge well done to everyone who auditioned, and to The Cresset for continuing to invest in young performers✨

We’re really pleased to share some exciting news from CD Licensing 🎭

We’re thrilled to have been entrusted with overseeing all licensing, chaperoning, and child performance compliance responsibilities for the Young Actors Co— a fabulous Cambridge-based stage and screen academy that supports more than 400 young performers.

This is a particularly special collaboration for us, as we previously had the privilege of chaperoning the school’s principal, Vanessa, in her younger performing days in Peterborough. Seeing things come full circle like this makes the collaboration even more meaningful.

A big thank you to Vanessa and YAC for placing their trust in us — we’re looking forward to working together to support and safeguard their talented young performers, both on and off stage.

We’re excited to share that we have once again been asked by The Cresset to act as children’s coordinator for their upcoming Productions of the Wizard of Oz and their Panto this year - Peter Pan. 🎭

These productions are always a brilliant opportunity for children to get involved, build confidence, and experience being part of a large-scale show in a professional venue.

If you’ve got a young performer at home who loves to sing, act, or dance, this could be the perfect chance to step into the spotlight 🌟

⭐ STEP INTO THE SPOTLIGHT: AUDITIONS OPEN FOR PETER PAN & THE WIZARD OF OZ ⭐

We are delighted to announce exciting audition opportunities for performers across two major 2026 productions - our Christmas pantomime Peter Pan and our annual musical The Wizard of Oz.

Following the success of last year’s production of Charlie & The Chocolate Factory, we are now looking to cast for a number of principal roles and youth ensemble for the Wizard of Oz.

We are also looking for talented young performers to join the star cast in our Pantomime Peter Pan. The initial audition requirements will be via self-tape submissions, with recalls being in person, by invitation only.

The Wizard of Oz
✨ Ensemble auditions: Wednesday 6 or Thursday 7 May
✨ Principal roles: submit a self-tape by 3 May
✨ Adults (18+): self-tape submission only at this stage (recalls by invitation)
✨ Rehearsals begin in May

Peter Pan – 2026 Pantomime
✨ Young performers can apply for featured roles via self-tape
✨ Shortlisted applicants will be invited to in-person recalls on Sunday 17 May (by invitation only)
✨ Rehearsals from November, with performances running 12–31 December 2026 (including some daytime commitments)
✨ Youth ensemble and dance team auditions will take place separately in September

Auditions are free to attend/submit, and both productions offer an exciting opportunity to build confidence, develop skills, and gain valuable stage experience.

Break a leg to everyone at Peterborough Operatic and Dramatic Society - PODS for their opening night of We Will Rock You tonight at the The Cresset .🎭🎶

PODS are always such a fantastic group to work alongside and one of our valued and trusted clients. Their productions are run with such professionalism, dedication and passion, and it’s always been a pleasure for CD Licensing to support them.

While we are not involved with this particular production, I’m proud that my business regularly supports theatre groups, dance schools and production companies with child performance licensing and professional chaperoning, helping young performers safely take part in a variety of amazing productions.

Happy Mother’s Day! 🌸

Through licensing, chaperoning, and supporting their performances, I get to see first-hand the dedication, encouragement and love that goes on outside of the theatre. None of these talented young performers could do what they do without you!

Thank you for trusting CDL with your children and for all the lifts to rehearsals, sorting costumes, patience and endless support you give them. It never goes unnoticed.

Following on from the Dance on Board success in January we’re now licensing 400+ children and looking forward to the Primary Dance Festival at The Cresset # at the end of February 🌟

This special event brings together primary schools from all over the city. For many of these primary school children it will be their first ever experience performing on a stage. It is wonderful to see the transition from those nervous moments before going on stage to the excitement and pride they feel afterwards having been supported and cheered on by parents and friends. Many really do come off stage absolutely buzzing and beaming! This festival is often the moment that sparks a love and interest in performing. It’s always such a joy to watch that journey begin ✨ break a leg to all the schools taking part! 🍀

We were really chuffed to be asked by Vanessa at Young Actors Co if we knew of four local chaperones who could help support their upcoming production of DNA The Cresset in February 🎭✨

Whilst we are not a chaperone agency we do know a lot of local chaperones (both professional and volunteer) and it’s always such a pleasure to be asked to help out and support young people doing brilliant creative work 💛 We’re really looking forward to working with YAC again this year!

Tomorrow we’ll be backstage with 300+ incredibly talented dancers and performers from some of the city’s top dance and performing arts schools.❤️ We are so excited to see them all come together under one roof at The Cresset. Such a wonderful opportunity for students from different schools to connect, support one another, and celebrate their common passion and joy for performing. Here’s looking forward to catching up with many of our theatre friends both old and new from
Elizabeth Boardman School of Dance, Tu Danse Studios, Tu Danse Academy, West Peterborough Dance, The Hebden School of Dancing and Kindred Drama , not to mention my beautiful granddaughter and many of the hugely talented students we have coordinated for and chaperoned in panto’s and other dance and amdram productions in recent years.
