What a fabulous Open Day yesterday! Lots of interest in OKVT's 4th season and the vibe in the room was super-positive! Auditions will take place next week and the successful auditionees will become part of an amazing company. As our present members said yesterday: 'There are no cliques, nobody laughs AT you'; 'You can just be yourself, try new things without being made to feel stupid'; 'This has been an incredible opportunity for me and I'm excited to see what's ahead at OKVT.'

Has it been nearly a year?!

What a special day today at Crosslet House in Dumbarton. Stephan and I joined the participants of our recent Party Pieces workshops to view the first screening of a video that we filmed in the final workshop. Consider for a moment that 7 of the 8 participants are at various stages in their dementia journey. Here they are, vibrant, focused and immersed in the music, giving performances that reflect their individuality. Touching to see the daughters and granddaughter of one of the participants join their mother/grandmother at the viewing and to see them moved to tears, proving that nothing can replace the experience of human contact.

In May and June, Sian and Stephan presented a programme of 'Party Pieces' Participatory Theatre workshops at Crosslet House care home in Dumbarton. The final workshop was filmed and edited and Sian and Stephan look forward to viewing the video alongside participants, residents and staff at Crosslet House this week.
