Well, that’s us closing the door at Frames Gallery for the last time. It’s been an amazing 47 years. Wonderful artists and lovely artworks sometime going to other homes. What a great way to spend a life. But I would be lying if I didn’t admit that it’s been hard work as well and I am looking forward to taking it easy. However we will be back at arTay in May 2027. I also need to say that none of this would have been possible with dedicated and loyal staff who have kept me organised and worked so hard. Particularly Lucy, Jenny and Astrid. Last of all Julie, who has supported me and the gallery in so many ways.

So here we are. Our final exhibition before we finally close our doors in July. It’s a special one so well worth seeing. It’s been an amazing 47 years. Exciting and sometimes exhausting! But we’ve met some wonderful artists who have become very special to the gallery. Image courtesy of

We don’t often highlight a particular painting but this one is special. The artist Marj Bond who died in 2023 was one of our oldest artists and this painting was found in her attic while clearing her house. It called “The Last Letter” and right now Mary Queen of Scots last letter is on show in Perth Museum. You can see it in arTay right now.
