It’s been almost a month since our event celebrating 45 years since Crass and Poison Girls played Perth Lesser City. It’s taken us a wee while to decompress and think through everything we learned from it. What looked simple on paper turned out to be a challenge to deliver, but it was all worth it. The highlight of the day had to be seeing old warriors Andy T and Bern meeting for the first time since they parted ways 45 years ago, at the end of that run of shows. From isolated safety behind a screen it’s hard to imagine what it took for young people to go out on the road at that time to play in small venues to take whatever was thrown at them.
The walking tour set the tone for the day and was a really warming experience to see so many people turn up just to walk round the town and look at Duncs allotment. Thanks to all the participating artists in our gallery of banners, poetry readings, live music, critical university, film screening and theatre performance. There is too many people to mention individually, so we will tag as many as we can, but if you see someone you know please mention them in the comments below. We’ll do more posts in the future about specific parts of the day. Yunior Aguiar put a huge amount of work into these brilliant pictures to please give him a follow!
And a massive shout out to Paul Phillapou and Osteria Bau Bau for their support in creating the event.

Finally! Here’s the full itinerary for our event on Saturday. We know it’s not very punk to have an itinerary but old punks like to know whats happening next. Please duck in and out of things as you see fit.
The flags will be up in Bau Bau all day. You can’t miss our street theatre performance with Theatre of the Oppressed Scotland & HIP HOP Education (TOSCOT) it will be followed by a discussion where you can give your views on the issues raised. A genuine opportunity for community building!
We’d like to make you aware that Crass - The Sound of Free Speech film screening is not recommended for children as it has adult themes.
We look forward to seeing your beautiful faces! Let’s go!

As part of our celebration of 45 years since Crass and Poisons Girls played the Lesser City Hall we invite you to present a 5-10 minute idea to our Critical University. In the spirit of the 1968 French student movements we welcome any proposal under the umbrella of Liberation/Autonomy/Freedom/Punk. Each idea will be followed by a short discussion.
