Well, what a wonderful evening we had at The Queen's last night. A great selection of songs from the wonderful Joe Doyle and an appreciate audience.

90-minutes of beautiful songs and guitar playing, ably supported by residents of the club.

Thanks to those who were able to make it. We understand there was a football match on last night 😃😃 I'm sure we'll be getting Joe back at some point so if you did miss him, you'll have another opportunity to see him.

Tonight, at The Queen's Hotel.

Penzance's adopted son, Joe Doyle, will be our guest tonight at the Penzance Folk Music Club. Joe is a young, charismatic Irishman who will charm you with wonderful songs, traditional, chorus as well as self-penned.

That, in itself, is a good reason to come along.

But, joining Joe to do some shorter support spots are:
Eunan O'Neill, a regular at the folk club who veers toward the style of Ewan McColl.
Anne Ellison-Webb, who will delight you with her jazz and contemporary folk style.
No Riff Raff will add a sparkle of comedy and audience participation.
Bob Glanville often provides the local Cornish sound to these events.

The whole thing will be compared by the wonderful Scott Terrill.
This is going to be a spectacular evening. Come and support Joe as he does his first gig at the club. You will not be disappointed.

Apologies that you may see this post a couple more times but I don't want people to turn up at the wrong venue.

Penzance Folk Music Club is meeting, this Wednesday, at The Queen's Hotel.

Our guest is the wonderful local musician, Joe Doyle. The evening starts at 7:30 and we finish at 10:30.

The reason for this change is because the football is being shown at The Bath and we simply won't hear anything there.

Come and support Joe on Wednesday. It's going to be a good night.

ATTENTION! PLEASE NOTE: VENUE CHANGE FOR FOLK CLUB.

This Wednesday's folk club, with our guest Joe Doyle, will take place at the Queen' Hotel just around the corner from The Bath.

The reason for this is that The Bath are showing the World Cup (England) and we won't be able to hear ourselves think, let alone sing.

So, we have secured the room to the right as you walk into reception at the Queen's.

I will be posting this message several times over the next few days to ensure everyone has received the message. Please share.

Thank you.

One of the best round the room sessions tonight at the Penzance Folk Clubc Club. Eighteen singers and everything from unaccompanied to contemporary to Sting, Squeeze and even a bit of Shakespeare. Visitors from Wigan and a Flemish song from two school friends from France added to the mix. Fantastic evening. Thank you to all who came and contributed to a great night.
