The next Listening Room (run by Lynn Florkiewicz) will be on Saturday 19th September and features:

The Gleaves,
Harry Kessell and Margaret Hind.

The Gleaves Josh and Chloe Ann Gleaves are two musicians based in the south west of england, writing and performing songs together, inspired by a variety of the roots genres.
Individually, they are quite the opposite - Josh brings boldness and power in his vocals, strong rhythm and mind blowing lead guitar playing, taking his songwriting influence from modern americana and country storytelling.

On the other hand, Chloe ann is soft yet soulful. her angelic voice is soothing on its own and even better in harmony with Josh's. Her intricate fingerpicking style, reminiscent of 60s and 70s folk. Together, The Gleaves create a completely unique sound. Their live performance is one of a kind - oozing with the love they share for one another, leaving you with that wholesome feel good feeling.

Harry Kessell: Harry is a folk singer and multi-instrumentalist from Redruth, Cornwall, performing a rich repertoire of traditional, contemporary, and original folk songs and tunes. Drawing inspiration from the voices and stories of the past, he brings fresh life to time-honoured material while remaining deeply rooted in the folk tradition. Raised among generations of folk singers and musicians, Harry is passionate about preserving and sharing these songs, ensuring they continue to be heard, sung, and enjoyed by future generations. He's a rising star in the folk world.

Margaret Hind: Margaret Hind is taking our poetry slot and is a regular at both Penzance and Redruth folk club. She takes a lot of inspiration from the more light-hearted section of the poetry world so be prepared for some whimsical

This evening will be a fundraiser for the first ever Penzance Comedy Festival being organised by Chris and Loretta Caughlin at the Front Room cafe.
