Following David’s passing in July 2025, this collection feels particularly special. It serves as a tribute to a man who spent his life looking at the world with wonder and he shared that vision with all of us. While he is greatly missed, his spirit lives on through these vibrant pieces, and we are honoured to share his final legacy with you here.

Lindsey Walsh's ceramic pieces are crafted using a range of expert techniques. The processes employed are truly fascinating. First the decoration is meticulously incised into the 'leather hard' clay surface. Following a biscuit firing, colour is applied using various pigments, glazes, and metallic oxides. A subsequent low-temperature 'Raku' firing then takes place. This technique yields purely decorative ceramics, where pieces are rapidly heated before being removed from the kiln while still red hot and placed in combustible material to cool. The combination of fire and smoke produces unpredictable, vibrant, and entirely unique results.

This exhibition is a visceral record of journeys from the granite heights of Zennor and Treen, to the sweeping light of Mount’s Bay, Mark navigates the landscape across every season. His work captures the grand scale of clifftops and crashing seas, alongside the quiet intimacy of wildflowers and hawthorn trees found along the paths to Prussia Cove and Nanjulian.
