Benbow Cornish Session

Benbow Cornish Session Musicians interested in exploring the Cornish repertoire are welcome to join us. Chris,the Landlord, and his team are most welcoming and supportive.

This is a monthly Cornish music session held every Thursday evening (usually the 3rd Thursday of the month), from 8.00pm till 10.00pm in the Wreck Bar of the Admiral Benbow in Penzance. We play Cornish tunes old and new, individually and in sets on a variety of traditional instruments. We also celebrate songs from Cornwall and the sea- many of which include rollicking choruses which everyone is en

couraged to join in with. Dancing is encouraged too and a couple of our regulars are happy to lead you in furries and serpents in the party atmosphere which we try to create. The evening is first and foremost about having a good time. See you there! John and Andy

Just in case anyone's unsure.....yes, there IS a Benbow Cornish Session tomorrow evening at 8pm; tunes, songs, dancing.....the usual joy!!!

Those of you who were at the last Benbow Cornish Session will have heard Barry and Dawn playing Barry's self-penned tune "Ro a Wolow". Barry has kindly provided me with the notes so I could pop them up here. If you learn by listening, rather than notes, please let me know and I'm sure Barry can provide a recording.
