Logo!

Thought I would design myself a logo! I am no designer, and it was quite hard! I went with an interpretation of my signature CA- as in Christine Anne! With the predictable paint brush! 🖌️

My latest oil, paying homage to the watchman's hut on Mynydd Rhigos.

You will note the shepherdess and her sheep!
The 6C century writer Gildas, mentioned "mountains particularly suitable for the alternating pasturage of animals". This seems to refer to transhumance, or seasonal movement of shepherds with their flocks. The 10C Welsh laws of King Hywel Dda allocate pigs to the husband and sheep to the wife. In the summer, the pigs were kept in the woods while the wife took the sheep and the children to the highlands.

These were called the  ‘hafod, hafotai (pl)’. The word derives from haf – summer and the verb bod (to be). This Rhondda upland is known for several historic ‘hafotai’.
