Heart art

Heart art Hi im karen, also known as the heart art lady..im a self taught artist and I created heart art after my sister claire passed away 2018.

I paint emotions taken from life events, to connect and express where words fail. thank you for supporting my journey ♡ 2018 jan 4th my younger sister fell poorly with a headache and by jan 17th we were being told she had only hours to live. Jan 18th early hours claire passed away surrounded by her heart broken family, claire was a mother of 3 boys. After the initial shock, I threw myself into fun

draising and raising awareness for vasculitis. At first it helped but after a while i was lost in my grief again. I have painted for many years, so i started using art to express my love for Claire and try to manage my grief. Heart Art was created in memory of Claire, we had matching heart tattoos so thats where the heart originated from. I wanted to connect with people and show that its OK not to be OK and that LOVE IS GREATER THAN LOSS.. we all struggle with life and we have all lost someone. With Heart Art we can connect our emotions and spread love to those who need a little help in smiling again. Thank you for visiting my page and coming along on my journey.. when you purchase from me its a piece of my heart so THANK YOU for helping me to grow and heal xx

Thank you so much for all of your lovely comments and likes on my last post, its not always easy to expose deep feelings but you all make me feel so much better when I do!!..
Today i sat with my feelings and painted "sisterhood" for every big sister, little sister and friendship that became family ❤️
Some hearts are born into our lives.
They become our first best friend, our biggest cheerleader, our safest place, and sometimes our greatest teacher. Being a big sister isn't about always having the answers—it's about showing up, loving without conditions, and walking beside someone as they discover who they are.
What a privilege it is to witness a life from its very beginning. To hold tiny hands that one day become strong enough to hold yours. To share laughter that echoes through childhood, tears that only sisters understand, and a lifetime of memories woven together by loyalty, love, and time.
No matter where life takes us, there will always be an invisible thread connecting our hearts

My beautiful sister claire 💕 The drive and inspiration behind KT Heart Art
Today she popped in there, maybe just to say hello or a kick up the arse (which at times she would do 😅) lately shes been on my mind more than usual.. I miss her support, funny character and love more than anything when im struggling! She may have been my "little " sister but she was wiser and fierce when it came to my peace ♡
Today is about reflection and slowing down.. taking time to appreciate those I have in my life and the memories of those who aren't with me anymore ♡ if you are struggling right now just know, it does get better (even though if your like me and you want to throat punch the person that tells you this at the time 😅) people mean well, time makes it manageable not better! And life is as good or bad as you believe it to be ...so believe in you! and take all the time you need to grow.
Hold those close to you a little tighter and tell them you love them as often as you can

Ever felt like you're standing still while your heart is begging you to move? ❤️
Today i did a quick sketch and created something for the moments we feel trapped by fear, doubt or life itself.
Sometimes the only map we need is the one beating inside our chest...trust your heart and follow it no matter the cost ♡

There are days I question everything.
Days where my mind was so loud that even picking up a paintbrush felt impossible.
People often see the finished artwork... They don't see the tears, the self-doubt, the anxiety, or the days I sat staring at a blank canvas wondering if I'd ever feel like me again.
But I sat with it.
Not because it was comfortable... Because healing isn't about running from the hard days. It's about surviving them. Weather its battling my weight, mental health, creative flow or personal circumstances I know that to overcome anything i have to go through it and "sit with it"
Every heart I paint carries a little piece of that journey.
A reminder that even when life feels heavy... your heart is still beating. You're still here. And that means your story isn't over.
If you're sitting with something right now... I hope you know you're not alone. ❤️

Hello everyone.. this piece is called " RUMINATE"
I've been sitting with a piece I created yesterday that’s really close to home for me and i wanted to be gentle with how I explain my vision of mens mental health..
It’s based on my own experience of people very close to me, and how they’ve tried to explain what life feels like inside their head. I’m not claiming to understand it fully, and I definitely don’t want to speak for anyone else, especially when it comes to men’s mental health, because I know that can be really complex and deeply personal.
But what I’ve been told is this… it can feel like chaos inside the brain. Like thoughts never really switch off, everything is loud, everything is fast, and at the same time there can be this strange numbness where the heart feels disconnected from it all.
Some days feel like nothing at all. Just flat. Empty. Like you’re moving through life but not really in it.
And then other days it’s everything all at once. Too much emotion, too much thinking, too much pressure, and nowhere to put it.
It’s been described to me as trying to function while your mind and your emotions aren’t always in sync… like they’re not even speaking the same language.
I wanted to create this piece to reflect that feeling. Not to define it, not to label it, just to show what it felt like when it was explained to me.
Because I think sometimes mental health doesn’t always look like what we expect it to look like. Especially in men, where so much gets unspoken, held in, or pushed down because it feels easier than trying to explain it.
If anything, I just hope this opens up a bit of space for understanding. For patience. For checking in on the people who might seem “fine” on the outside but are carrying a lot more internally.
And if this resonates with even one person, or helps someone feel a little less alone in what they’re going through, then that means everything.
"When the mind is in chaos, the heart is disconnected"

Hi everyone.. as promised here is my new artwork!!
This piece is my recovery, my way back and me making peace with myself.
This is my expression of "recovery" from the breakdown, the realisation of needing help and the acceptance of finally letting go of trying to be OK.
I wanted to share this with you all to highlight that a breakdown doesn't need high levels of stress and anxiety, it can come along when you actually think you have your s**t together.. like me I thought I was managing my troubles and responsibilities quiet well, yes I struggle but I didnt see a mental breakdown being the outcome.
Like everything I go through, im pulling a positive from this experience.. because if it hadn't been for my breakdown I wouldnt of paid attention to what needed fixing, what kind of help I needed and how much I'd neglected myself ♡
So if you’ve ever felt mentally exhausted, helpless, lost, or like you’re fighting battles nobody else can see… this piece is for you ❤️ a reminder of where we’ve been, what we’ve survived, and the place we never want to return to again..

There are two words that can feel heavier than grief, louder than anxiety, and more terrifying than silence…
“HELP ME.”
Not because they are weak, But because saying them means admitting you are no longer holding everything together.
People think breakdowns happen loudly... Mine happened quietly! In exhaustion.. In isolation.. In pretending I was okay while internally I was falling apart.
This piece was born from that place.
Scattered emotions, every thought disconnected.. Every emotion too heavy to carry. Every version of myself feeling lost somewhere beneath survival mode.
But recovery is strange… because healing doesn’t arrive all at once It comes in fragments. In honesty, In rest, In finally saying the words you spent so long swallowing.
"HELP ME"
And maybe that’s where recovery truly begins. Not when we become whole again… but when we stop suffering in silence, When we admit we dont have our s**t tigether and we just aren't managing at all ❤️
