I’m Rachel, founder of The Wooly Nook, and my path to opening a yarn shop has been shaped by a lifelong love of learning, making, and helping others grow.
For years, I worked in education designing courses, leading teams, and supporting learners of all ages. Alongside that career, knitting and crochet were my creative anchor. They offered calm, connection, and a sense of accomplishment that balanced the busy world of teaching and leadership.
As my skills grew, so did my desire to share them. I began running workshops, exploring new techniques, and immersing myself in the fibre‑arts community. Eventually, the idea of creating a dedicated space, one that blended creativity, teaching, and community, became impossible to ignore.
The Wooly Nook is the result: a warm, welcoming studio and yarn boutique where people can learn, experiment, and rediscover the joy of making. It’s a place built on passion, education, and the belief that creativity brings people together.
If you are here because you love yarn and creating, welcome! What's one fun factor I should know about you?
