Brougham Hall Wartime Weekend

Brougham Hall Wartime Weekend An annual World War II weekend at the historic Brougham Hall An act of Remembrance takes place on the Sunday. There is overnight camping for exhibitors.

In 2016, the late Christopher Terry, the then owner and driving force behind Brougham Hall’s restoration, invited the Military Vehicle Trust to be involved in the first WW2 Wartime Weekend. During the war the Hall was home to the 79th Armoured Division who secretly developed a “Hobart’s Funny” tank modification known as Canal Defence Light (CDL) or “Monty’s moonlight”. The small and friendly show

takes place on the second weekend in May within the walls of the Hall and in line with Mr Terry’s wishes, includes only authentic allied living history and military vehicle displays, period entertainment and exhibitions. For 2025 we will be celebrating the 80th Anniversary of VE Day at the show which runs from 9th-11th May. North Lancashire and Cumbria MVT coordinate the vehicle and living history displays, on behalf of the Hall. Exhibits include rare military vehicles and interactive living history displays and talks.
