Right… you might have noticed I’ve been a bit quiet here. After a strong cup of coffee and a stern chat with myself, I’ve made an executive decision.
I’m taking a little break from trying to convince Facebook and Instagram that my posts deserve to be seen. Honestly, unless I sacrifice a kidney and sign up for a monthly subscription, the algorithm hides me like a naughty toddler behind a curtain.
And let’s be honest — most people still don’t know what Alcohol Ink Art, Gelli Plate Printing or Batik painting even are. I could post a masterpiece and the algorithm would still say, “Hmm… no. Let’s show them a dancing ferret instead.”
So here’s the new plan:
- I’ll still pop dates on my website and other platforms, just fewer over the summer.
- I’ll still run small groups on request — if you’ve got a few friends, perfect, just message me.
- I’ll still be teaching wet felting and needle felting because those classes are always buzzing.
- And I’ll absolutely still be playing with my beloved watercolour and acrylic painting on my cruising adventures. These will eventually replace the three activities mentioned above.
Basically, I’m choosing me time and my personal art over endless marketing/admin.
I could feel burnout creeping in — oh, the juggling.
If you need me, drop me a message. I’ll still pop up with the odd snippet, and if you see me, please say hello because FB won’t show me to anyone unless you do.
I’ll be in my creative space, covered in paints, inks, or teaching on the occasional cruise, living my best colourful life 💛 .
