Penicuik Storehouse over a number of years has grown a very special place in my heart.
They do so much work to help local people and this includes training and supporting young adults into employment, hosting community groups for new parents, Gaelic conversation groups and hanging exhibitions of local artists and makers.
They also have a great cafe, with a community meal every Wednesday and a refillery and a wide selection of fair trade and local groceries.
If you have not visited before go in and check it out. Treat yourself to the best Scone in Scotland!
I popped in to top up my shelf today and I also got 2 books from the collection ( payment by donation)
I really think Roger Kelly would be proud of how the Storehouse which he started from a room in his house, supports the High Street, the Community and is surviving in very tough operating conditions.
Big thank you to Arwen and all the staff for always making me feel welcome 🙏
