Snapped in my studio but just delivered to The beautiful Jimi Zen Gallery on Sergeants Lane Tenby: ‘Tranquility’ (1.5cm x 1m )

Ever since I’ve realised how much wellbeing I gain from simply gazing at the sea, I’ve wanted to paint it and bring that feeling into my home. I soon discovered than many other people wanted it painted for them to put into their homes too. I suppose it’s the next best thing to having a sea view.

I’m fascinated by its endless movement — mesmerising, elemental, and ever-changing. In many ways, it’s like watching flames dance in a fire. Something about it draws us into a quieter, more restful place. Our breathing slows, our blood pressure lowers, and the body settles into a state where healing can begin.

For many years, I’ve painted the sea obsessively. Sometimes those paintings are abstract, capturing a feeling rather than a place. At other times, they reveal recognisable waves, shorelines, and rocks. But whatever form they take, they all carry the same thing: my love of the sea and my intrinsic need to be near it. 🌊🩵

My studio space doubles in size in the sunshine ☀️ Two large canvases underway.. One commissioned via The Jimi Zen Gallery, Sargent’s Lane and the other, something special for the walls of that lovely gallery space !

It seems 9am isn’t an early start for The Big Retreat Festival goers! The lovely crowd who joined my Talk, Walk and Gather session on Friday had almost doubled in number by our 9am Printing from Finds session yesterday morning.

Beautiful botanical prints found their way onto cards — lasting memories of the lush flora and fauna discovered in the estuary woodland alongside the festival site.

Huge gratitude to everyone who showed such interest in the theoretical landscape of my arts practice and so joyfully embraced the art-and-nature adventure we shared together 💚

A truly memorable experience, and I’m incredibly grateful to have been invited by Cymbrogi to present at The Darwin Tent 🌱🍂🌿

“I think this is something for me,” said one of my workshop participants I had the privilege of working with at The Macular Society in Milford Haven, earlier this week.

We explored intuitive drawing with charcoal and discovered just how powerful this simple form of self expression can be: This kind of art gently reduces stress and anxiety, supports emotional expression, encourages mindfulness and self-awareness, and builds confidence and creativity. It’s grounding, soothing, and surprisingly freeing.

Honestly — everyone should have a go.
