of all the paintings, this one has had the most visceral response; so many people tell me they relate to the pose through tension, frustration, upset, despair, exasperation or taking a moment to think through a difficult decision. maybe it resonates with everybody differently, but it really highlighted the adversity we all have in common; nobody gets to sail through life without problems. it's part of growth.

it has been a privilege to have this painting featuring in the Melancholy show at Vanguard Newcastle and, from next week, will be at Headway Arts Open Call in Blyth.

i really feel a little part of my soul is in each of these paintings, i hope it connects with yours somehow

out and about today. one of the many wonders of living in Northumberland is the rugged coastline; it’s hard not to be inspired! it was a treat to go out to visit the farne islands from seahouses this morning to see the nesting birds and seals - highly recommend if you’re up this way.

there is something about being in/near water that just scratches an itch in my soul. thoroughly enjoyed the elemental expedition.

for the first time in any gallery, you can visit sbk original paintings alongside incredible artists at x ‘s Melancholy art show, starting tonight.
6-10pm tonight and 12-7pm tomorrow.

personally, I hope to meet as many artists as possible from the list of creative minds featured in the show

a visit to to drop off limited edition prints ahead of the Melancholy art show (1st and 2nd May).
these prints (and the paintings they depict) require a particular home: they need to be with someone who finds beauty in unusual places and doesn’t feel the need to conform. if your home decor is an expression of your individuality, thank you for sharing yourself with the world.

it felt very special to pick up my paintings from in Morpeth. having walked by the eclectic array of art in the window every day after school as a child, it’s surreal to collect my very own work. thank you to Sam the framer for her brilliant work.

next stop: dropping off these treasures at for the Melancholy art show with : 1st and 2nd May. i’ll see you there, friends.
