Let's Pretend! 🤹

Introduce your child to the wonderful world of theatre during these joyful classes!

And we can now reveal the next theme is...

"Seaside Circus" 🏖️🎪

Let's pretend to be everything from mermaids and pirates to magicians and clowns in these fun filled drama workshops with singing, movement, puppets, games and acting.

Classes start next Monday 24th August, with a choice of two seven-week blocks on either Mondays or Wednesdays. Classes are for ages 3-5 and are £42 for a block.

Fred MacAulay comes to Eastgate Theatre!

Now in the fourth decade of his comedy career, Fred MacAulay still loves being on stage doing what he does best …… quite simply it’s STAND-UP and his appetite for performing is as strong as it was all those years ago when he took a massive side-ways step from a career as an Accountant and Company Secretary into the world of entertainment.

A career which has taken him all over the world (apart from South America) (and some other continents) where he has worked in television and radio. But it’s always been and always will be as a stand-up that Fred wants to be remembered. It’s because of stand-up that he’s been asked to do all the ‘celebrity’ things that he’s done.

Fred hates the word ‘celebrity’ yet he’s done Celebrity Mastermind (twice) and Celebrity Masterchef (once) and who can forget his Celebrity Fame Academy for Comic Relief (Answer: hopefully everyone). Asked twice to do ‘I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here’ Fred said No! “I’m waiting for the Scottish version ….. “So You Think You’re A Celebrity, Get The **** Out Of Here!”

We're delighted to be able to share some of the beautiful production photographs from Within This Dust, taken by Mairi Fleck.

Within This Dust is a powerful and cinematic dance work reflecting on the events of 9/11, and is inspired by Richard Drew’s iconic photographs that capture a man falling from the World Trade Center during the attacks.

Developed by award- winning choreographer Thomas Small, the production weaves together three live dance pieces with animation and real-life survivor accounts, creating an immersive and deeply human response to one of the world’s most devastating events.

Blending beauty with tragedy, stillness with motion, Within This Dust is a haunting and heartfelt meditation on a day the world will never forget.

Hadestown: The Musical will be showing at Eastgate Theatre this October!

Winner of eight Tony Awards in 2019 including Best Musical and the 2020 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album, HADESTOWN: THE MUSICAL is the genre-defying musical blending modern American folk music with New Orleans-inspired jazz to reimagine a sweeping ancient tale of two intertwining love stories, that of young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice, and King Hades and his wife Persephone.

This National Theatre Live production will be showing at Eastgate Theatre on Friday 21st August at both 1pm and 7pm.

Olivier and Tony® Award winner Lesley Manville (Phantom Thread) joins Aidan Turner (Rivals) in a striking new staging of Christopher Hampton’s celebrated adaptation of the classic novel, where among the glittering salons of the super-rich, one misstep can mean ruin.

Our Sizzlin' Summer events continue!

This Thursday, come along to Eastgate to see rip-roaring comedy 'Three Amigos'.

Three out-of-work silent-movie actors are accidentally drawn to a Mexican village that is being harassed by a gang of outlaws. The three - 'Ned Nederlander', 'Lucky Day', and 'Dusty Bottoms' - play 'Lone Ranger' types in their movies, but must play their parts for real now.
