Run by local artist, Holly Bennett, using her wide experience of drawing and teaching.

New sculpture classes at The Hive Community Centre a great success - Come and join us!

The first new Sculpture Classes at The Hive ran in February, and a great time was had by all.

A first-time participant in the sculpture class said:

“I was apprehensive and excited, and I came never having done modelling before. I am thrilled and excited by the process, and I want to do more. I am surprised by how easy it is to make the form and about what I have done – that I have created something! Just to be able to do that so easily!
Holly is a great teacher.”

Art Classes The Hive Community Centre!

Two new art classes begin next week – Drawing and Sculpture!
Get creative in 2D or 3D. Have fun and learn art.

Termly classes will be running from the 1st of March, but to get going before that we have two taster sessions for each class in February. Book any or all of the trial sessions to give them a go and see if they’re for you!

Sculpture class trial sessions: 1-3pm on Tuesdays, the 8th & 15th February.
Drawing class trial sessions: 1-3pm on Wednesdays, the 9th & 16th February.

We will be following Covid-secure guidelines.

Art Classes at The Hive!

Exciting new art classes are beginning The Hive Community Centre. These vibrant and dynamic classes in sculpture and drawing will guide you to engage with your creativity and make work that is meaningful to you!

The new term’s classes begin in March, but why not come along for the taster sessions in February first?

Sculpture classes will make small-scale expressive sculpture by modelling with wax-based materials onto a wire framework, and drawing classes will cover a variety of projects to bring passion and enthusiasm into your artwork. All classes will be guided by what the group feels would be most useful and relevant, and are suitable for all adults, with all levels of experience.

The classes are run by local artist, Holly Bennett, who draws on her wide experience of creative practice and teaching. Holly says: “It is so important for us to be able to express ourselves creatively – it has such a powerful, restorative and uplifting impact on life. I am looking forward to meeting you and making art together!”
