New Release Announcement:
Base2 Music is pleased to announce the forthcoming release of 'The Breton Rhapsodies', a new recording by Wayne Marshall OBE.
This distinguished collection of organ works has been recorded on the new Klais organ in the National Forum of Music, Wrocław, Poland, and will be released on 17 June.

Base2 doesn't just do amazing digital high resolution productions we also do analogue ones - on tape. No ordinary tape recorders either. We have had them rebuilt by the late tape legend Tim de Paravacini, who provided tape recorders to Pink Floyd and The Beatles no less. Tim's ability to transform the sound quality was incredible. So two videos I found, show one of them in action, the modified Revox B77. First during the Cesar Franck organ works by the late Jean-Paul Imbert at St Etienne, Caen, and then with recording Madame Emilia Baranowska, one of the greatest Cellists alive, for her 'Bach suites' album. Both available as SACD CD and TAPE!

A New Stereo and 5.1 Channel Surround Sound on Base2 Music from the Edit Master Source!

Recorded in the vast acoustic of the Abbey of Saint-Ouen, Rouen, Infinite: Ambient Improvisations at Saint-Ouen presents a sequence of ambient organ improvisations shaped by space, resonance, and tonal depth.

The program unfolds in two parts: the first inward and meditative, grounded in sustained pedal and slowly evolving harmonic fields; the second broader in scale and more theatrical in gesture, culminating in Prelude, Passacaglia and Lament, Op. 6 and the expansive Sonorous works.

Performed by Jake Purches on the celebrated Cavaillé-Coll organ of Saint-Ouen, the music draws on the instrument’s warmth, clarity, and architectural power. While Part I favors restraint and interiority, Part II opens outward, embracing fuller registration and heightened dramatic contrast.

Captured in high-resolution stereo and true 5.1 Channel Surround Sound, the recording preserves the organ’s scale and the abbey’s extended reverberation.

The 5.1 Channel Surround Sound perspective articulates spatial separation between Grand Organ and Choir Organ, enhancing depth and localization within the soundstage.

No electronic instruments or Ai used in the project. All sound effects were recorded by Jake Purches.
